Marshawn Lynch looking to score with chocolate bars

Former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is expanding his business empire again.

This week, Lynch will launch a chocolate division of his BeastMode brand with three chocolate bars made by Seattle Chocolates.

The partnership came to fruition when the team that works with Lynch, who is obsessed with candy and most notably Skittles, approached Jeff Rubin, the CEO of IT’SUGAR — a company which has 100 retail locations and worked with tennis star Maria Sharapova in starting up her Sugarpova brand.

“They came to us and told us they didn’t want the biggest chocolate bars, but like Marshawn, wanted to pack a punch,” Rubin said.

The result — and we tried them — was some pretty tasty combinations, including “Mint Kookie ‘N Milk,” “P-Nut Butter Pretzel Bar” and “Smore’s Bar ‘N Milk.” Two of the bar wrappers have Lynch’s trademark phrases on them: “I’m Just Here So I Don’t Get Fined” and “I’m Just Bout That Action, Boss.”

The three bars will be sold separately at IT’SUGAR locations and on the company’s website for $3.99 apiece, or in a pack of three for $11.99.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Lynch’s Fam 1st Family Foundation, which supports local youth in the Bay Area.

Lynch has been busy lately. His BeastMode brand recently partnered with his college, the University of California, to unveil a co-branded line of apparel.
